Creative Ideas for a 4th of July Wedding

Posted by: Denise In: Theme Weddings

If you’re planning a 4th of July wedding, these creative ideas will inspire you to create a beautiful (not tacky) celebration of your love.

Invitations

Stretch your imagination with your wedding invitations, and incorporate patriotic colors of red, white and blue in the invites to really make a splash. Other symbols, such as stars and eagles, can also be used to express your theme. The invites featured here are from Opentip.com, and feature a brilliant firework design to really showcase your theme beautifully.

Flowers

A stunning bouquet of red, white and blue flowers would be very appropriate for a 4th of July wedding, and there are a lot of things your florist can do to create floral arrangements that look beautiful with this theme. Consider a mix of gardenias, roses, and tulips, or mix and match with your own favorites.

Decorations

Keep your decor simple to avoid looking cheesy. Deck out your tables with alternating red and blue checked tablecloths; hang a few garlands of red, white and blue stars around various areas of your wedding/reception site; and create memorable centerpieces by using large glass vases; filling them with a red white or blue candle, and adding a small American flag on top. Use your imagination!

Food

It’s 4th of July, so why not keep to tradition and have your wedding food be delicious BBQ? Offer a variety of grilled treats, such as hamburgers and hot dogs, corn on the cob, pineapple, watermelon and icy, frozen beverages to keep guests cool and comfortable. In lieu of a wedding cake, consider individual fruit pies or tarts with delicious raspberries and blueberries in keeping with the theme.

With a little creativity and some inspiration, you can create your own magical 4th of July theme wedding that will be remembered forever. What ideas can you come up with?

Love the comment chessy because the decoration could get very gaudy. Your ideas are great.
An idea to keep the Fourth of July wedding decorations mainly for the reception and not the ceremony. Brides can get carried away with an idea(ideas are good) but the idea needs to be of soft tones.

One of my cousins got married last year and I was a bridesmaid in her wedding. About 2 weeks before the wedding the bride calls me up to ask me if I would mind not wearing my engagement ring at her wedding since it would distract people from looking at her ring, and she really didn’t want anyone in the bridal party sporting jewelry bigger than hers. Can anyone beat that bridezilla request?? — Alexis
