Positively Purple – Your Dream Wedding Cake, Flowers and MORE!

Posted by: Denise In: DIY|Just for Fun|Theme Weddings

I’ve had so much fun writing my “color” series that I had to continue it this week with my favorite color – purple! I’ve always envisioned a purple wedding, and their are literally tons of things you can do with this color.

Keep reading for decor inspiration, cake ideas and more in the prettiest shade of all!

This gorgeous bouquet uses a mix of freesia, sweet peas, hyacinths, hydrangea and more for in various shades of purple. If you want an alternative to roses, this is the bouquet for you! Imagine how striking this pretty bunch will look against a white wedding gown!

While you can use your own flowers to match your bouquet, this purple wedding cake uses lavender roses and purple orchids for a stunning combination. The cake is simple yet elegant, and can easily be altered to suit your tastes!

Who says the wedding color can only be incorporated with the decor and cake? Take your color theme one step further by creating your guest cards with the same color theme. The beautiful example at right uses a simple floral design and gorgeous lettering for a unique spin on traditional name cards.

Jazz up your wedding or reception site with beautiful decorations that encompass your color scheme. Take inspiration from the photo at right and place inexpensive wicker baskets around the area. Fill the baskets with fake fruit or flowers, and tie frilly purple ribbons for the finishing touch. These are definitely unique and economical decorations for your special day!

If you love purple as much as I do, these featured purple-themed cake ideas, flowers and decorations should help inspire you to create your own purple wedding of your dreams!

One of my cousins got married last year and I was a bridesmaid in her wedding. About 2 weeks before the wedding the bride calls me up to ask me if I would mind not wearing my engagement ring at her wedding since it would distract people from looking at her ring, and she really didn’t want anyone in the bridal party sporting jewelry bigger than hers. Can anyone beat that bridezilla request?? — Alexis
