I Don’t Want A Bouquet Toss… But What Are The Alternatives?

Posted by: Denise In: Bridal Party|Just for Fun|Traditions

Not feeling the idea of putting your single lady friends on display for the traditional bouquet toss? While some of the ladies might be disappointed, there are unique alternatives you can use that are just as sweet.

If you like out-of-the-box ideas, turn the tables and let the single MEN catch the bouquet! Most of the men will probably be happy to oblige you in the spirit of fun, and this can definitely make for some interesting photo opportunities and conversation starters. Alternatively, you can lead the DJ in a “dance-off.” Start by allowing all married couples to hit the dance floor, and after a few minutes start eliminating the couples who have been married the least amount of time.

For example, you could have your DJ say “All couples who have been married less than 5 years must now leave the floor,” and so on until there’s only one couple left. Present that couple with the bouquet!

With a bit of creative thinking, you can turn the traditional bouquet toss into a much more unique experience your guests will remember long after the wedding has ended.

One of my cousins got married last year and I was a bridesmaid in her wedding. About 2 weeks before the wedding the bride calls me up to ask me if I would mind not wearing my engagement ring at her wedding since it would distract people from looking at her ring, and she really didn’t want anyone in the bridal party sporting jewelry bigger than hers. Can anyone beat that bridezilla request?? — Alexis
