Do You Need A Wedding Cake?

Posted by: Denise In: Cakes and Catering

Not a wedding cake kind of couple? No problem! Many couples are turning to alternative confections to celebrate their special day.

A popular alternative to a wedding cake are cupcake tiers, where each tier holds a certain number of cupcakes. The top tier often has a miniature cake added for a stylish twist.

If you aren’t prepared to forgo a wedding cake altogether but still want something less traditional, consider using mini cakes. You can stack each miniature cake on tiers or present them beautifully on a buffet table with various icing and decorations.

Dessert buffets are also becoming increasingly popular for many modern couples because they allow you to serve a variety of guests who may have different tastes. Consider a cheesecake buffet or another type of dessert for a delicious end to your wedding.

If you want a unique alternative to a traditional wedding cake, these options are certainly worth checking out. The key here is creativity and celebrating your wedding the way you want to – with or without a cake!

The first thing I decided about my wedding was that I wanted cream puffs, my favorite dessert, instead of cake. We got married in the fall, so we did cream puffs and pumpkin pie. It was AWESOME.

Wow that sounds YUMMY!!! I’ve always joked about having a “wedding pie” instead of a cake if I ever got married… what a great idea :)

One of my cousins got married last year and I was a bridesmaid in her wedding. About 2 weeks before the wedding the bride calls me up to ask me if I would mind not wearing my engagement ring at her wedding since it would distract people from looking at her ring, and she really didn’t want anyone in the bridal party sporting jewelry bigger than hers. Can anyone beat that bridezilla request?? — Alexis
