Bridal Veil Falls

22 March 2020 23 Comments

Bridal Veil Falls near Index, Washington. I captured this in the spring but overlooked it until now. All the rain we’ve been having recently had me thinking about waterfalls! I decided to go BW to focus on the interesting angles and the imposing look from right at the base of the falls.

The shooting angle did end up working out – I remember having to lean out over the water at the bottom of the falls to get an angle on this but didn’t want to lean out too far and risk falling in as there is another smaller falls immediately downstream! Thank goodness for wide angle lenses!

this image must by impressive in large format on a wall. It seems to combine darmatic and peaceness. The strong contrast let the fall and sky shine infront of the black rock and forest. The long time capture effect on water works really impressive here!
