Spring 2010 Wedding Dress Trends

Posted by: Denise In: Bridal Gowns & Fashion

For me, spring brings promises of new life and hope for the rest of the year, which is why I absolutely love spring weddings. Wedding dress trends for the upcoming season also evoke this pretty sentiment. Classic white gowns promise to still be a traditional favorite, but brides also have the option of gorgeous alternative colors, frilly bows and lots of ruffles.

Take this gown from the Vera Wang Spring 2010 Collection. The gorgeous pale yellow-green color is accented with a darker sash, a lovely ruffled bodice and lacy tiers cascading down. I feel this dress represents the season perfectly, and any bride would be pleased to wear this gown.

A more modern bride may love this dress from the Alfred Angelo Spring 2010 Collection. While it sticks with the traditional white color, the shorter length and frilled skirt offer a contemporary take on the classic bridal gown silhouette. The adorable white bow at the bodice adds a unique finishing touch.

This mermaid-esque wedding gown from Maggie Sottero is certainly a bold choice, but for the bride who wants to make a statement she definitely can’t go wrong with this fire engine red number!  The bodice is beautifully accented with white lace detailing while the feminine silhouette hugs every curve in just the right spot. Bold, beautiful and striking, this dress will be the talk of the ceremony!

This wedding gown from Casablanca Bridal reminds me of a tiered wedding cake! The beautiful strapless gown incorporates flowing “tiers” with alternating layers of tulle roses for a gorgeous contrast and a twist on the classic wedding gown. Perfect for the bride-to-be who desires a bit of tradition with a splash of contemporary appeal!

Spring 2010 promises to be a beautiful season for new wedding dress trends and many of the gowns you’ll see will cater to a variety of styles and tastes. Whether you prefer an understated, classic look or something a little more exotic and bold, get inspired with these examples of dresses you can expect to see next year!

One of my cousins got married last year and I was a bridesmaid in her wedding. About 2 weeks before the wedding the bride calls me up to ask me if I would mind not wearing my engagement ring at her wedding since it would distract people from looking at her ring, and she really didn’t want anyone in the bridal party sporting jewelry bigger than hers. Can anyone beat that bridezilla request?? — Alexis
