2010 Wedding Dress Trends

Posted by: Denise In: Bridal Gowns & Fashion

There are definitely a few trends to keep your eye on for your upcoming 2010 nuptials. From daring mini dresses to a splash of color, these wedding dress trends promise to be very exciting!

Shorter Hemlines

Tea-length or cocktail style wedding dresses are super hot for 2010 and are ideal for the laid back bride. Plus, a shorter hemline means you’ll be a lot more comfortable dancing until 2 am at the reception! Feminine details like lace and bows helps make a shorter hemline more classy, too!

Layers

Layered skirts made from tulle (as pictured,) chiffon, or other fabrics are a promising trend for 2010. Wedding gowns with full, layered skirts are perfect for a fairy tale themed wedding or any woman who wants to feel like a princess on their big day. Plus, there’s something inherently romantic about a dress that makes you feel like royalty when you wear it!

One Shoulder

Asymmetrical wedding gowns are no-fuss, laid back and perfectly stylish and are going to be trendy in a big way come Spring. While many brides feel a one shoulder wedding dress might be a bit overboard, I can promise you that this style is PERFECT (especially for women who are comfortable with their arms!)

Colorful Accents

A wedding dress trend I am particularly fond of is this one, whereby the traditional white gown is broken up with a splash of color. This trend can be done in two ways; a belt or other accent details that coordinate with your color scheme (as pictured,) or a colorful bodice paired with a white skirt. Either way, I am all for adding a splash of color to basic white!

Which wedding gown trends are you looking forward to the most when 2010 hits?

Best Bridezilla Stories

One of my cousins got married last year and I was a bridesmaid in her wedding. About 2 weeks before the wedding the bride calls me up to ask me if I would mind not wearing my engagement ring at her wedding since it would distract people from looking at her ring, and she really didn’t want anyone in the bridal party sporting jewelry bigger than hers. Can anyone beat that bridezilla request?? — Alexis
